Should I get a "hurricane cut" before storm season?
Honest answer: no. Stripping a palm down to a feather duster weakens it — the extra green fronds are how it feeds itself and rides out wind. What a palm needs before storm season is the dead weight out: dead fronds, seed pods, and loose boots. That’s the trim we do, and it’s better for the palm and your roof.
How often do palms need trimming?
Most Pinellas palms want attention about once a year — more if they drop seed pods over a pool or driveway. Send a photo; if it can wait, Cody will say so.
